Sorting and Classifying

I keep trying this activity with love bug in different ways. She still seems a bit young, at only 20 months, but I only use them as fun little introductory lessons and never push her. One of these days it is going to click. :)

This time we tried sorting by either color or size.

She honestly wasn't really interested in doing any kind of sorting, and at this stage of the game it's all about PLAY, so we just did some stacking activities and I hid the blocks under the bowls instead.

Most children begin to sort and classify between 2 and 3 years of age, closer to two and a half. Remember to tailor these activities to your child's development. We want this to be playful and fun. In the early years that is how children learn.
