Art and Sensory Projects

Water coloring has quickly become a favorite for Love Bug. She loves anything to do with water, And paint, actually. So this is right up her alley.

I let Olivia make chocolate pudding "by herself". I put all of the ingredients out for her and let her go. I helped her with hand over hand if she needed it, but other than that- the mess is all hers! lol.

ETA: The pudding itself was a....disaster? LOL. It never solidified. She ended up drinking it like a milkshake throughout two days.

Practicing those fine motor skills with this fun threading activity! We made a fruit loop necklace (we didn't have cheerios).

We also didn't have yarn, so we used twine.

Look at that intense concentration and observation! Tell me there isn't learning going on!

She is very proud of that necklace! She ended up not wanting to eat it, so we hung it outside on our plantar for the squirrels, who were more than happy to take it off our hands!

Water sensory play! I got all of these great cooking and baking tools from The Dollar Tree- and what fun colors!!! Hours and hours of pouring, stiring, mixing, and sorting are in store for us with these babies!! ;)

No mess painting and sensory bag. After she finished her no mess painting, I added about a quarter cup of water and a touch of dishsoap, sealed up the bag and turned it into a sensory bag.

This art project turned out pretty cool!

Playing with the sensory bag.

Wet chalk painting onto a piece of black construction paper really makes those colors POP!

Remember to only put a couple teaspoons of water into the cup to avoid big messes. ;)

Painting on wax paper. It's always fun to use a different medium.

Drip painting. This builds fine motor skills, and she has to squeeze the little tube to drop the paint out.

And as you will find, with any toddler, just about any paint activity turns into a finger paint activity.
