Exploring Colors

A Color of His Own by Leo Lionni
My Many Colored Days by Dr Suess
Mouse Paint by Ellen Stoll Walsh
Alice in Wonderland

Matching balls and sorting cups.

Balloon painting...with a twist. One balloon is 100% air, one is 100% water, and one is 50/50 water/air. Extreme fun for exploring the properties of air and water.

We added water to our sorting cups and water soaker balls.

A Color of His Own book and art activity. We have an iguana (named Iggy, of course) that we pretended was a chameleon this morning. We painted on him along with our art easel paper.

Straw fine motor and eye-hand coordinating sorting activity.

**As always, please remember that some items could potentially be choking hazards for small children. Adult supervision is ALWAYS suggested. Please don't allow children to put straws in their mouths. **

We FINALLY got some water beads! And this has quickly become one of our favorite activities!

More art on the easel. This time we added glitter to her paint.

Love Bug is finally starting to show interest in building with Lego duplos.

Qtip painting.

Painting on bubble wrap.

Imprinting onto paper.

Finished products!

Ocean

The Pout Pout Fish
Secrets of the Seashore
Secret Seahorse
Swimmy by Leo Lionni
The Rainbow Fish
That's Not My Mermaid

Our jellyfish sensory bottle!

Sea animals water play!

We did lots of art!

We recently discovered do-a-dot art. It's fantastic!

Love Bug and I each did a page.

I then cut out little fish and use them to do finger plays. Out favorite is "5 Little Fish".

We made our own splash pad.

Shaving cream sensory play. Always a big hit in this house.

One of our books, is an Osborne Shine-A-Light book called Secrets of the Seashore. You take a flashlight and shine it through the pages, and it displays hidden objects. It is actually a really neat book, and Love Bug enjoyed finding the hidden objects.
